December Art Classes

~ At a lovely and magickal land called Wolvenwold ~

Create handmade holiday gifts, learn all sorts of new skills, and craft fresh and exciting new things each and every week with us!  Bring a friend or two, or get a small group togther if you like, or come alone!  You will find yourself in a new and welcoming, enjoyable space, spending time with and for...YOU!  We will have fun together learning all kinds of new ways to make our exterior (and thus, interior!) worlds beautiful.  Art is great for your mind, body and spirit!

These classes will be offered in our home, in Elk Creek, MO (near Tyrone, close to HWY 137 & HWY H, 20 minutes each from Summersville, Willow, Mountain View, Cabool or Houston) with Bernadette or Fran on:

Wednesdays and Saturdays

from:

10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

and a second class from

2:00 PM– 4:00 PM

Classes will be by pre-registration only, and each class size is limited for space, (we'll allow about ten to twelve people for each class) so please sign up as early as you possibly can!  Class times and prices will vary depending on the art/craft taught, but fees will usually be around $10 (and up to $40) per person, per class project.  All materials and tools will be provided, unless specifically mentioned on the site, where additional tools may be suggested or encouraged, but not necessary. (We may occasionally ask you to bring some things from home if you can, and if you'd like to.) Please make sure to check the website weekly or just before coming to a class, for changes or weather cancellations, class details, what-to-bring lists, and project costs.  Some classes will run for one full time slot or a bit less, some for the entire day (two time slots), and some will be offered on an ongoing, continual basis (such as advanced drawing/painting.). 

We will be doing many different things and teaching a lot of wonderful skills! 

Classes will focus on various subjects, such as; basic and advanced painting, (acrylic, oil and watercolor) sketching and drawing, printing and stamping, fine arts, crafts, holiday crafts, seasonal artwork, Origami and Washi, (Japanese paper art) gourd arts and gourd musical instruments, jewelry, sculpture, clothing and unique wear, upcycled and recycled wear, faery fashions (tutus for children, fantasy items, faery hair, barefoot slippers, wings, wands, glittery things and more oh my), glass and sand candles, candleholders, lanterns, sculpture, felted wool and knitted items, ornaments and keepsakes, clay and polymer clay, magnets, woodworking, macramé and kumihimo braiding, wreaths, edible crafts and gifts, green and eco-friendly crafts, and OH, sooo much more! 

 New ideas and projects to be announced each and every month!

December Classes at Wolvenwold 

Wishing for different class times?  Ideas for things that you would like to learn?  Interested in group rates?  Contact us with your preferences or ideas for new classes and class times, and we’ll see what we can do to work with you.  We want to do art with you!

Instructors:

Fran Hanks and Bernadette Holzer, mother and daughter creatresses of many mediums, have many years of arts, crafts, workshops and creative teaching experience between them.  They are both excited about meeting all of their new students this winter!  They have each taught classes at Toadstools art gallery/supplies/framing store in Mountain View, at many festivals around the country, and Fran also used to be an art teacher, and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts.  Any adult over the age of 18 is welcome to any of our classes, but no minor children at this time, please.  Exceptions MAY be made on Saturdays at either of the 10AM – 1PM or 2PM - 4PM classes, if you call ahead to ask first (please), provided we can find someone to look out for the kids while we grownups “play.”  (Bernadette has a six year old daughter who may be here for some of the classes, and may enjoy a play mate.) We may introduce specific children’s or youth (gradeschool aged kids) classes in the future, if there is enough interest in doing so, and we can get a group of at least six or so kids to offer one.  Please call, text or email us for more information, if you are interested in seeing us offer a children's class.

(FYI... Mountain View classes coming soon... If you aren't familiar, Mountain View is a nice, quaint little town about twenty miles from Wolvenwold. We are looking into doing some classes there as well beginning in January, at a friend's local art shop, and perhaps also at the local library. Details TBA here as soon as we procure the space! We'll also post updates and photos on our Facebook site, and messages on our Yahoo group, so be sure to become our friend there as well! For now, this is the info on our classes at Wolvenwold.
